Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amrita

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my parents and my daughter who is my biggest support right now. I came back to the industry after a long break and believed in myself despite challenges.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received is to listen to what your superiors or leadership says, learn from that, use your experience to take decisions, and educate yourself constantly.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You have to constantly educate yourself and upgrade your knowledge. Have patience because this field is difficult but constantly growing and improving. We will not stay updated if we don't keep growing ourselves.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include the field constantly changing with disease patterns and machinery, keeping up with AI which leadership may resist, and reduced NIH grants affecting funding. Opportunities are abundant with lots of clinical research and inventions happening everywhere, especially if you have passion for research.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Communication, honesty, and kindness are the most important values to me in both work and personal life.
