About Amrita
Amrita Goswamy serves as Senior ITS Research Engineer at ECOM, where she leads projects involving crash data analysis, crash surrogate analysis, and the evaluation of countermeasures to mitigate crashes through statistical and machine learning methods. With more than 9 to 10 years focused on transportation safety, her expertise spans vulnerable road user safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, work zone safety, naturalistic driving data, human factors and driver behavior analysis, AI and ML applications in asset management, and projects funded by state DOTs such as Wisconsin and Missouri. She earned her PhD in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University in 2019 after completing her bachelor's and master's degrees in the field with a transportation emphasis. Prior to her current role, Goswamy gained industry experience at Development Consultants Private Limited working on steel structures, at Snyder and Associates in Ankeny, Iowa, and at the University of Central Florida, where she contributed to Florida DOT projects. Her commitment to transportation safety stems from a dedication to the Vision Zero goal of reducing crash fatalities to zero, and she aspires to mentor others and grow a team focused on personalized safety solutions.
