Her Story
About Amrita
Amrita Mukherjee is a cloud AI cybersecurity professional with five years of dedicated experience at the intersection of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and security. A graduate of the University of Rajasthan with a B.E. (Hons) in Computer Science, earned with top honors in her class, she went on to build a decade-long career in pre-sales and technical alliances at Oracle before shifting her focus toward AI security. She has held her Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) credential since 2021 and continues to pursue further certification in AI security, reflecting a career-long commitment to staying ahead of a rapidly evolving industry.
Now serving as an Artificial Intelligence Researcher, Amrita is channeling her technical background and entrepreneurial drive into developing frameworks and guidance that help enterprise organizations in regulated industries and critical infrastructure sectors adopt AI safely and responsibly. Integrity has remained the throughline of her career: throughout her years in pre-sales, she prioritized transparency over overselling, choosing to tell clients what could realistically be delivered rather than what they wanted to hear. That same principle guides how she approaches leadership, mentorship, and collaboration today, as she works to bring structure and trust to an AI landscape she sees advancing faster than the guardrails meant to secure it.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Amrita finds balance through reading, gardening, and dancing, and she prioritizes time with her daughter as a mother. She also extends her sense of care to her community, fostering dogs in need through No Dogs Left Behind and serving as Troop Treasurer for the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she was selected as one of the Influential Women representing Royal Oak, Michigan for 2026 — a distinction that reflects both her technical achievements and her ongoing commitment to mentoring the next generation of women in technology.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amrita
01What do you attribute your success to?
I credit my success to the strong technical foundation I built early on, my ongoing commitment to learning within the security field, and the trust I've earned from customers by always being honest with them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I was once told that climbing the corporate ladder requires learning to manage incompetence — not everyone will operate at your level, and accepting that early prepares you to lead a team made up of people with different strengths and approaches down the road.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I always encourage young women to get their foundations right first. Pick up a book, read, and truly familiarize yourself with the basics of AI before specializing. Understanding how the field reached this point matters — AI isn't a monolith, so once you grasp the fundamentals, choose your lane deliberately. Don't take shortcuts.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Technology is advancing at a pace people can barely keep up with — it feels like a technological revolution moving forward at a dangerous speed because the drive to innovate and profit is outpacing our guardrails. On the job front, there are far more seekers than available roles, and for women specifically, this remains a male-dominated field with its own set of challenges to navigate.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is my guiding principle. I never make false promises to customers or business leaders, and I refuse to over-promise. That same standard carries into my personal life — I'm a poor liar by nature, and I choose to tell the truth even when it's difficult.
