She further expanded her expertise by earning a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Prior to joining Microsoft, she worked with a Microsoft partner organization, Lantern, as a data consultant, supporting implementation initiatives across industries including manufacturing and retail while helping organizations modernize their data platforms and apply AI-driven solutions.
Beyond her professional achievements, Amrutha is passionate about community engagement and cultural connection. She contributes her time and expertise to The Goonj Foundation, a nonprofit organization, supporting strategy and implementation efforts that help strengthen connections between Asian and Indian communities in the United States and their cultural heritage. I attribute my success to my commitment to continuous learning, creativity, and curiosity. I am always seeking opportunities to grow, explore new ideas, and find innovative solutions to challenges. My mind is constantly working, asking questions, connecting possibilities, and thinking about how I can improve, create, or make the most of every opportunity. This passion for discovery and my willingness to keep learning have been key drivers throughout my personal and professional journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to keep learning and continue growing. I have learned that I do not need to know everything, but I do need to know how to find the information, resources, and solutions necessary to move forward. In today’s evolving professional landscape, that means being adaptable, staying curious, and leveraging tools such as artificial intelligence to expand my knowledge, solve problems, and work more effectively. Continuous learning and the ability to figure things out have been essential to my success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to be brave, stay empathetic, and remain committed to creating their own path despite the challenges they may encounter along the way. Every career journey comes with obstacles and setbacks, but resilience and self-belief are essential to overcoming them. There will always be people who doubt or discourage you, but it is important to trust yourself, stay focused on your goals, and continue moving forward with confidence and determination. Your growth, perseverance, and ability to uplift others will help you build a meaningful and successful career.

The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now come from the constant pace of change and the introduction of new technologies, ideas, and ways of working. Every day brings something new, making it essential to stay informed, adaptable, and open to continuous learning without becoming overwhelmed. I believe in trusting the knowledge and experience I have gained while continuing to grow and keep up with advancements in the industry. By staying curious, embracing change, and taking advantage of new opportunities, I can continue to evolve and make a meaningful impact.

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are empathy, helpfulness, and gratitude. I believe in treating others with kindness, offering support whenever I can, and recognizing the contributions of the people who have helped me along my journey. When someone needs my assistance and I have the ability to help, I strive to go the extra mile to make a positive difference.
