Amy Fisher Bruey

She is a seasoned international development and leadership development professional with over 15 years of experience designing and managing exchange programs, facilitating leadership training, and building capacity for civil society organizations across the globe. Currently serving as Managing Director and Lead Facilitator at Equilibrium Coaching & Consulting, she leads mission-driven organizations and individuals through human-centered coaching, training, and capacity building, with specific expertise in fellowship design, international development, and higher education. In this role, she has facilitated alumni seminars for civil society leaders from the ASEAN and WHA regions, designed women's leadership training in Uzbekistan, led sessions for over 120 global leaders, and completed over 300 hours of individual coaching sessions. Prior to this role, she served as Director of the Community Engagement Exchange Program at IREX, leading a Department of State program to support global civil society. Her extensive career at World Learning included roles as Project Director and University Relations Manager, Senior Program Specialist, and Program Officer for the Global UGRAD Program, where she managed multimillion-dollar budgets, supervised teams, and expanded host university networks from 70 to 130. She also served as an Academic Exchange Specialist at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, managing Fulbright Program activity across Central America and the Caribbean. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is recognized as a strategic, collaborative, and mission-driven leader who is deeply committed to empowering global leaders and strengthening civil society through education, exchange, and coaching.
