What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence and consistently treating others the way I would like to be treated. I focus on being persistent without being intrusive, ensuring thorough follow-up, and under-promising while over-delivering. By maintaining attention to detail and applying an analytical approach, I strive to maximize client ROI and cultivate long-term, trusted relationships.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received came from Dave Slasnic: take a position in a smaller market to gain experience. Following this guidance allowed me to build a strong foundation, which eventually led to my return to St. Louis and significant long-term career growth.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to understand the realities of the job and be prepared for rejection. Success requires persistence, including making the necessary outreach and consistently putting yourself out there. I recommend immersing yourself in all available advertising and marketing channels, asking plenty of questions, leveraging your network, and speaking with current employees to gain a clear understanding of day-to-day expectations. By combining persistence with curiosity and proactive learning, you’ll set yourself up for long-term success.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field today is the growing dominance of digital advertising and the rapid expansion of viewing platforms, from streaming services to social media. Audiences are spending their time in new places, which requires us to adapt. At the same time, this shift presents tremendous opportunity: by embracing digital channels—such as SEO, SEM, social media, and emerging platforms like TikTok—and offering integrated marketing solutions, we can reach audiences more effectively and deliver greater value to clients.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, integrity, and consistent follow-through. I place a strong emphasis on attention to detail, patience, and building trust with clients, as I believe these principles are essential for fostering meaningful relationships and delivering long-term results.
