Her Story

About Amy

Amy English serves as warehouse lead at Incora in Austin, Texas. In this role, she oversees chemical management operations for Samsung's manufacturing plant, including storage, tracking, temperature monitoring, and inventory management across multiple sites. Amy joined the company four years ago after spending 12 years as a stay-at-home mom and military wife, initially viewing the position as temporary before discovering her aptitude and passion for the work. She progressed rapidly from warehouse associate to leadership, filling three distinct roles within the organization. Amy holds no formal degrees, having started college but leaving to marry and relocate with her military spouse. She credits her success to an internal drive that prevents her from stopping, allowing her to push past self-doubt. Key values guiding her include integrity, which shapes her approach as a leader and customer service representative. Among her challenges are reentering the workforce after a long absence and being the only woman working directly in the warehouse environment. Amy advises others, particularly young women, to embrace opportunities outside their typical expectations, as these can prove most rewarding.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amy

01What do you attribute your success to?

My inability to stop. I've always had this push within myself to just keep going, and it's just what I do. Sometimes I just don't think about it, I just do it. And it has kind of helped push me past the points where I start questioning myself and what I'm doing. I just keep going.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't give up, and don't stop pushing for more, like, don't get complacent. And don't think that you're not worth what you want, just because you haven't had the same experiences as other people.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be scared to try something that doesn't normally pop up on your radar or come across as something that you would normally do, because sometimes those things, specifically, can end up being the best things you do.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Coming back into the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years has been difficult, and also being the only woman in the warehouse. It's a labor-intensive warehouse job with big machines and chemicals, which women don't typically apply for.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is a big one. Because I think it plays out a lot at work, and how you're seen as a leader, and as a customer service representative, and also at home, with how you raise your children.
