What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to three things: providing truly personal service, communicating quickly and clearly, and being comfortable hearing ‘no’—because persistence and professionalism always pay off.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to treat every client like they are your only client. Personal service becomes your strongest differentiator.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to never hesitate to ask for help. Success here requires patience, strong communication skills, and discipline. It’s important to understand that, unlike traditional employment, this work doesn’t always guarantee payment for every hour you put in. For those seeking immediate financial rewards, this environment can be challenging—but for those willing to commit and grow, it can be incredibly rewarding. Seek out mentorship and networking opportunities. The extra support provides a soft place to land when struggling and a cheerleader who is excited about your successes.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There’s tough competition for tech and data talent (AI, analytics), and the industry must attract and train new workers while many experienced professionals retire.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are community, service, and giving back. I actively participate in a variety of professional and community activities in New Orleans, including chamber events, JEDCO, and a local organization called Voulez Krewe, which also has a philanthropic focus. I am particularly passionate about volunteering with Dress for Success, helping provide professional development and clothing to empower women to succeed in their careers. As a Mom who has a soon to be graduating high school senior, family time is extremely important.
