Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm the first person in my family to graduate with a college degree. I now have a daughter who is in college. I just always wanted to show my children that moms can be everything at home but they also can be who they want to be. My children have pushed me to continue to try and elevate my career. I've always wanted that for myself but I always see my kids being so proud in the background.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Stay true to myself in this position. I like to say that is kind of what makes me stand out is that I am very true to who I am and that is a culture builder. I think staying true to who I am helps me form those bonds with our team and therefore make stronger teams.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Women are so emotionally strong and with that writing comes so much easier. I would just tell them to definitely just be in tune to who they are be in tune to who their company is. I ask a lot of questions because I want to know more. You are the voice of the company even if no one sees you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Our industry for the past two years we are of course in Louisiana our industry has been so up and down with BEAD funding when President Trump was elected and then all of BEAD funding was halted. It really hurt our business and we were scrambling. But at the same time I knew how great our business was and how efficient we were and the quality of work we were doing and I still wanted to promote that.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and transparency and accountability in the workplace for sure. With my role it isn't a question on whether I need to be transparent it is how I can be transparent. Personally I am a mom through and through. I am a family person and devote every minute of my time outside of these walls to my family.
