Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I put my career first, maybe to the detriment of my personal life, but my career is the most important thing, and I feel like as a woman, especially as a woman in tech sales we are not represented often. I've made sure in my career that no one ever questioned if I got promoted why I got promoted. I am that person that works harder than anyone. I'm the person that's always online, I'm going the extra mile, but I'm also that person that finds creative ways to do deals even if it's never done before. I'm creative and I am a work smarter not always harder type of person as well. It all goes back to how I was raised and how my mom taught me to live as a woman in corporate America.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Learn as much as you can about this new AI strategy. Don't pour everything into work, know when to walk away from the organization or from your computer at the end of the night. Be patient with yourself, give yourself grace. This industry can be very hard. Be true to themselves.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is AI. No one knows that they need to adopt but is kind of scary to do so. AI could replace a big chunk of the software vendors. It's already started changing the game from evangelical selling with 160 calls a day to people using Google or ChatGPT to find vendors.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I pride myself on being a very honest and upfront person even with customers. If I feel like a solution isn't the right fit, that's something I'm going to say to them. My integrity as well. You can be creative but you gotta do what's right and what's in the best interest of not yourself. I do this job to better my customers and it just so happens that if I better them I better me too.
