Amy Hannon-Kerr is a Project Building Coordinator with CUI Cable Services, where she plays a key role in supporting the financial and operational execution of large-scale telecommunications projects. She manages the invoice processing lifecycle, oversees accounts payable and receivable, and ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of all transactional processes. In collaboration with senior construction leadership, she supports project delivery by maintaining detailed reporting, tracking production metrics, and implementing innovative practices that enhance efficiency across fiber and coax operations.
Her professional background spans customer service, logistics, and construction operations, reflecting a steady progression of growth and adaptability. She began her career in call centers, advancing into escalations and customer relations roles where she developed strong communication, problem-solving, and client support skills. She later transitioned into freight brokering with Across America Freight Services, LLC before moving into the fiber industry, gaining hands-on experience in production tracking and operational coordination with organizations including Lightspeed Construction Group and Full Circle Fiber Partners, LLC.
Throughout her career, Amy has demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to professional growth while balancing early personal responsibilities, including becoming a mother at a young age. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my children and grandchildren, who serve as my greatest source of motivation and inspiration. They encourage me to stay focused, work hard, and continually strive for growth and improvement in both my personal and professional life. Their presence in my life drives me to lead by example, remain resilient through challenges, and pursue success with purpose and dedication.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is “family first,” shared with me by my mentor, Michelle Herrick, in the fiber industry. This guidance has shaped how I approach both my professional responsibilities and personal life, reminding me to maintain balance, stay grounded in my priorities, and make decisions that support long-term well-being and fulfillment.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to listen, observe, and take in as much knowledge as possible before speaking up with confidence and intention. It is important to develop a strong backbone and advocate for yourself, while also understanding that leadership can be exercised in a composed and thoughtful way. In male-dominated environments, professionalism, resilience, and authenticity go a long way, and success comes from balancing strength with emotional intelligence and respect for others.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is keeping up with rapidly evolving technology and industry advancements. I continuously study emerging innovations and trends to stay informed and adaptable, including areas such as fiber infrastructure developments and future-facing energy concepts like fusion energy, which I find particularly interesting.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My core value is faith, with God first in all aspects of my life. My relationship with Jesus Christ guides my decisions, actions, and the way I conduct myself both personally and professionally. I strive to lead with integrity, purpose, and humility, allowing my faith to shape how I treat others and approach challenges. In addition, I place strong importance on my reputation and how I am perceived within my community, ensuring that my actions reflect respect, accountability, and consistency in everything I do.
