Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my parents, whose support and encouragement continue to inspire me even though they are in another country 8,000 miles away. As a student pursuing a double major in Politics and Economics, along with my experience as a Tax and Legal Intern at Grant Thornton Thailand, I have developed strong analytical and financial skills that continue to help me pursue my career goals and I know that I wouldn’t have made it this far without my mum and dad’s sacrifices.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to stay actively involved in associations, volunteer work, and community initiatives. My experiences with Sigma Kappa, student government, Thai Student Association and Boston University’s Days of Service have taught me the value of building connections, contributing to meaningful causes, and being open to opportunities that support both personal and professional growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to believe in their dreams and remember what you’re doing it for. They should also never limit themselves regardless of any circumstances because I am a firm believer that you can pursue your goals and go anywhere in the world to create the future you envision.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My biggest challenges is being afraid to step out of my comfort zone in fear of failure but as a sophomore college student, I also see this stage as such an important stepping stone to compile my knowledge, gain experience, explore different career paths, and develop the skills and connections that will prepare me for my future career even if it sounds insurmountable at times.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are education, equality, courage, and the willingness to share my story to inspire others. Participating in a Harvard University speaker panel for the Harvard Thai Student Association on education and equality in Thailand, as the youngest speaker alongside other influential speakers including a Thai prime ministerial candidate, reinforced my belief in using my experiences to create positive change.
