Kingman brings 20 years of experience in the social sector to her practice, which she founded six and a half years ago after earlier roles that included creating the Letter Foundation for Doris Buffett and publishing the book Letters to Doris. She earned a master's degree in nonprofit management from the University of Pennsylvania following her undergraduate studies as a scholarship student at a private liberal arts college in New York. Kingman serves as a board member of the Essex County Community Foundation and End Rape on Campus, a national nonprofit focused on preventing sexual assault on college campuses. Her professional approach emphasizes saying yes to opportunities and building credibility through a strong work ethic, values she credits for early access to leadership roles.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would do much of the same things I did again. I scrapped it out. I really busted my butt at every job that was given to me, and I said yes to almost any opportunity that was provided to me professionally, even if it meant going above and beyond my current job description. I always tried to say yes, and it gave me a lot of credibility for having a strong work ethic, and it gave me access to boards and boardrooms and leadership really early on in my career.
