Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amy
01What do you attribute your success to?
God first, my parents, my dad especially, my children, my grandchildren. They are my support system.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My dad taught me to give 110 percent regardless of anything. I follow the book to the T and do my job well whether noticed or not.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's gonna be hard, especially now. Having a lot of patience and being determined. If you're determined and patient, you'll get frustrated every once in a while but if you stick with it, you can make something out of it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Every day is a challenge managing time between three companies, stopping to help one then another, not knowing if I'm coming or going, but it's all good. Opportunities exist but people assume high dollar money which is not the case; focus on the work and reputation not the money.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Never losing yourself. Have respect for yourself. Show my children and grandchildren that life isn't easy but you work hard at what you do regardless of the long hours.
