About Amy

Amy Simpson is a seasoned educator and coach based in Spring, Texas, currently serving as the Head Coach at Grand Oaks High School. She begins her 23rd year as a high school soccer coach and teacher, with four years at Grand Oaks. In addition to her coaching career, Amy teaches World History Honors and has coached volleyball, cross country, track, and basketball, demonstrating a versatile commitment to student athletics and academics.

A standout athlete herself, Amy was an All-State soccer player at Humble High School, where she still holds the scoring record with 52 goals in a season and 108 over her career. She played at The University of Tulsa under coach Randy Waldrum before transferring to Texas A&M after a career-ending injury. Over her coaching career, Amy has led programs across Texas, including Conroe Oak Ridge, Katy Cinco Ranch, Bryan High School, and Austin High School, achieving multiple district championships, playoff appearances, and national recognition. She currently holds an overall coaching record of 363 wins, 152 losses, and 38 ties, ranking 18th among all active girls high school soccer coaches in the nation.

Amy is dedicated to mentoring young athletes both on and off the field, emphasizing character, discipline, and teamwork. She holds a USSF National “D” license, an NSCAA National Diploma, and served as secretary for the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches for nine years. With a focus on fostering leadership, resilience, and a lifelong love for sports, Amy continues to impact generations of student-athletes while pursuing opportunities in athletic administration to expand her influence in school athletics.
