Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the phenomenal mentors and leaders who have supported and guided me throughout my career, both in education and in my various roles at Lamb Weston. Their encouragement has helped me recognize my potential, build confidence, and understand that being a woman should never limit what I can accomplish. I have learned to set ambitious goals, believe in my abilities, and pursue every opportunity with determination and the mindset that the possibilities are limitless.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that our job isn’t to make everyone happy; it’s to make decisions that contribute to the success of the company. That perspective has taught me to stay focused on the organization’s goals, make thoughtful decisions, and remain committed to doing what is best for the business, even when it may not always be the easiest or most popular choice.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to identify what you are truly passionate about and pursue it with purpose. Build meaningful relationships, make the right connections, and surround yourself with people who support your growth. With a clear vision, determination, consistency, and the drive to keep moving forward, you can overcome challenges and achieve the goals you set for yourself.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating the constant ebbs and flows of the market while balancing evolving business opportunities with the expectations of shareholders. Working within a publicly traded company requires a strong understanding of business priorities and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. I have learned that success often means being comfortable with uncertainty, remaining resilient, and continuing to advocate for what I believe will create long-term value for the organization.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are integrity, collaboration, and flexibility. I believe in being honest and authentic in my actions, working together with others to leverage different perspectives and strengths, and remaining adaptable when circumstances change. By fostering a collaborative and harmonious environment, I believe we can navigate challenges effectively and arrive at the best possible solutions.
