Amy Su, PMP is an accomplished Senior Program Manager currently leading initiatives within the Space Business Unit at VACCO Industries. With an extensive background spanning aerospace, aviation, and industrial engineering, Amy has developed a global reputation for driving operational excellence, leading complex programs, and executing large-scale transformation projects. Her career is marked by continuous growth, from early technical management roles to strategic leadership positions where she has successfully delivered cost-saving programs, accelerated development cycles, and expanded international operations.

Prior to joining VACCO Industries, Amy held pivotal roles at Senior Aerospace SSP and GE Aviation, where she honed her expertise in program management, lean processes, and cross-functional leadership. At Senior Aerospace SSP, she spearheaded multiple space programs supporting NASA’s Artemis mission and key commercial space clients such as Blue Origin and Northrop Grumman. At GE Aviation, she served as Site Lean Leader and Senior Operations Manager, where she earned her Master Black Belt certification and received the GE Aviation Engineering Process Excellence Award for driving digitization and process efficiency across the Flight Test Operation.

Amy’s career began with Air France–KLM, where she advanced through a series of leadership roles—from managing aircraft modification programs to directing business development strategy. Her work in establishing AFI KLM E&M Components China stands as a testament to her global mindset and ability to lead within multicultural environments. Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2019 and an alumna of HEC Paris and Purdue University, Amy brings to every role a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and a passion for team empowerment. Her professional journey reflects her commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in the advancement of aerospace and space technologies.

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be passionate about what you do and to believe in yourself. Confidence and enthusiasm will carry you through challenges and help you create meaningful opportunities for growth and success.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is that it’s not primarily focused on profit-making. However, this also presents an opportunity to create meaningful impact, drive purpose-driven work, and prioritize long-term value over immediate financial gain.
