Her Story
About Amy
Amy Suarez serves as Lead Implementation Specialist at Theralytics, an ABA-based software company. She has been in this role for two years and brings four years of experience as an implementation specialist overall. Prior to this, Amy spent eight years in Applied Behavior Analysis, including two years as a developmental specialist, which provided her with valuable knowledge of data collection and practice management software. In her current position, she oversees both the implementation team and the migration team, handling various responsibilities within the company while working from home with her three-year-old daughter. Amy earned her master's degree while going through labor and pregnancy, an achievement she considers her proudest. She volunteers regularly with her family at Feeding South Florida, a nonprofit where her husband works. Her advice to young women entering the field is to exceed expectations by putting in 110 percent effort and helping out beyond basic job duties. Amy's long-term goals include advancing to operational and director-level roles, potentially chief of staff, and one day opening her own ABA company alongside her sister, who holds a doctorate in the field. She enjoys gardening, planting, and other outdoor activities to balance her time spent at the computer.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Amy
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The biggest thing is just keep exceeding the goals or expectations that your company or whatever role you're gonna be in provides. I always put my 110% on anything that I do, and kind of showing that I'm not only here to just do my job, but also do whatever I can to just help out in any way.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The technological field is very male-dominated, but my company is very women-oriented because of the ABA field and the people that we work with.
