Her Interview

Ten minutes with Amy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my ability to build strong relationships and overcome barriers throughout my career. Coming from a rural background and early experiences where I had to prove my value in challenging environments, I learned how to connect with people authentically. My clinical background has also been a strong foundation that has supported every leadership role I’ve taken on.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to never stop learning. Continuing to pursue education, training, and certifications is essential to staying strong in your career. Growth comes from constantly expanding your knowledge and challenging yourself to improve.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to keep learning and continuously strengthen your skills through training and certifications. Be bold in pursuing opportunities, ask difficult questions, and don’t hesitate to use your voice—even in environments where it may feel uncomfortable. Growth comes from stepping forward, not stepping back.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in healthcare leadership is organizational transformation across financial, cultural, employee, and clinical dimensions. The opportunity lies in building strong leadership teams, identifying operational levers, and helping organizations recognize and act on growth potential.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me are people-centered leadership, relationship-building, and developing others. I also value lifelong learning and believe that investing in people and communication is essential to creating meaningful, lasting impact in any organization.
