Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my overall journey, combining 25 years of experience in my field, including 15 years as an executive director, with a strong academic and international foundation. Originally from Brazil, I was educated at a highly competitive public university and later completed a specialization in finance, both of which prepared me for a demanding global career. My experience in oil and gas and multinational environments has allowed me to deliver value to clients across complex industries. As a mother of three, I am also deeply motivated to balance a successful career with family life, striving to make a positive impact in both.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never stop learning and treat others like you would like to be treated.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is that we need you. Don’t worry about being the only woman in the room. Lean in, show your ideas, and find your voice. Make mistakes. Use your network to help you along the way. Build your village. It requires dedication, resilience, and balance, but it is absolutely worth it.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities and challenges in my field right now is the fast paced changes in the macro environment and AI. From a personal perspective, finding the right balance between stepping into a new role at a bank—where I am still building depth and impact after one year—and being fully present as a mother to my three children. Professionally, it is an opportunity to continue learning, adapting, and contributing in a dynamic financial environment, while personally, it requires intentional focus and prioritization to ensure I am showing up meaningfully in both areas of my life.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Making a difference is the core value that guides both my professional and personal life. At work, I am involved in BBVA’s Women in Leadership (WIL) committee, where we lead initiatives such as Women’s Month events, networking sessions, and community outreach, including volunteering efforts like Dress for Success in Houston, and I also help lead the newly launched Houston WIL chapter. At home, I prioritize being present for my three children by actively participating in their school, sports, and extracurricular activities. Overall, I focus on building meaningful relationships, adding value to clients and the community, and opening doors for others while staying engaged in my family life.
