Alongside modeling, Ana Maria is exploring fashion design by transforming thrifted clothing and pieces from her own wardrobe through alterations, unique details, and contemporary trends. She holds a bachelor’s degree and is nearing completion of her master’s degree, becoming the first in her family of nine to pursue a professional career. Her path has included studying education, wellness, yoga, and healing modalities, as well as working as a substitute teacher. While pursuing her education, she supported herself by working as a bartender and raising her daughters as a single mother. As a Mexican-American whose first language is Spanish and second language is English, Ana Maria is also writing a book in Spanish about her personal journey from Mexico, learning a new language, overcoming barriers, and pursuing opportunities beyond her circumstances. She plans to translate the book into English to share her experiences with a wider audience.
