Dr. Ana Serrano

Ministry Director
Gods Heart Ministry
Vista, CA 92084

Dr. Ana Serrano is the founder and Ministry Director of God’s Heart Ministry, a nonprofit she established in 2001 with a mission to serve, educate, and support abused women as they choose lives free from violence. Through its flagship programs, Las Valientes and Las Traductoras, the ministry provides culturally responsive advocacy, legal document assistance, court accompaniment, and supervised visitation services—primarily serving Hispanic women and families navigating domestic violence, family law, and immigration-related challenges. Her work is rooted in restoring hope, dignity, and confidence, empowering women to create safe, loving homes for themselves and their children.

With more than two decades of frontline service, Dr. Serrano brings both professional expertise and lived understanding to her advocacy. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology from Northcentral University, where her dissertation examined the influence of submission and patriarchy on Latina women’s decision-making when leaving abusive relationships. Her academic work informs her compassionate, trauma-informed approach, ensuring that the services provided by God’s Heart Ministry are not only practical, but deeply affirming and respectful of cultural context.

In addition to her ministry leadership, Dr. Serrano honorably served over 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring in 2019 after roles as a combat medic, psychiatric technician, and behavioral health technician. Her military service, faith, and scholarship converge in a lifelong commitment to healing, justice, and advocacy. Today, she continues to be a trusted voice and tireless advocate for survivors, inspiring strength, resilience, and transformation within the communities she serves.
