Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to doing everything with care and urgency for other people. I love to help people, and the type of industry we work in, we help people after a disaster. What makes me successful is when I feel that I'm helping others. I do everything with care, and that focus on serving others and making a difference in people's lives during difficult times is what drives me and has led to my achievements in this field.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to do everything with my heart. This guidance has shaped how I approach my work and has been fundamental to my success. It reminds me to put genuine care and passion into everything I do, rather than just going through the motions. By following this advice, I'm able to connect more deeply with the people I'm helping and find real meaning in my work.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

."First and foremost, never underestimate yourself. The moment you walk into any room, know that you belong there just as much as anyone else. The restoration and disaster recovery industry has traditionally been male-dominated, but that is changing and you are part of that change."

"My advice is simple but powerful: invest in your knowledge, earn your certifications, and never stop learning. Competence is your greatest confidence. When you know your craft inside and out, no one can take that from you."

"Do not be afraid to lead with empathy. For a long time, compassion was seen as a weakness in business. I am here to tell you it is your greatest strength. People remember how you made them feel, especially in their most vulnerable moments. That is what sets you apart."

"Build your community. Find mentors, lift other women around you, and remember that we rise higher together than we ever could alone. There is no competition between women who are truly confident in their purpose."

"And to every young Latina stepping into this world ,TU naciste para built this. Your culture, your resilience, your work ethic, and your heart are not obstacles. They are your superpowers. Dream big, work hard, and never let anyone tell you that where you come from limits where you are going."

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities I see in the restoration industry right now is the growth and inclusion of Latinas and immigrants in leadership and operational roles. As a Latina myself, I believe this industry has incredible potential to open doors for people who come from different backgrounds and are willing to work hard, learn, and grow.

For many immigrants, the restoration field can become more than just a job — it can become a career path where they build leadership skills, financial stability, and confidence. I want to help break the stereotype that immigrants can only hold entry-level positions. We are capable of leading departments, managing operations, building teams, and making a real impact in this industry.

Another major opportunity is expanding education, certifications, and mentorship for underrepresented communities. By creating more visibility and support, we can inspire the next generation of Latinas to believe they belong in professional and leadership spaces within restoration.

To me, success is not only about personal growth, but also about opening doors for others and proving that where you come from does not define how far you can go

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The value that describes me as a person is kindness - I'm very kind. In my professional life, I'm goal-oriented and determined. When I set a goal, I make sure I do everything that needs to be done to achieve that goal. I don't give up, and I push myself to complete what I set out to do. This combination of personal kindness and professional determination defines how I approach both my work and my relationships with others.
