About Anabel

A dedicated community health professional and bilingual outreach advocate committed to improving health equity and access to resources for underserved populations. Currently serving as a Community Health Worker and Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) Coach with the Williams YMCA of Avery County, she works closely with individuals and families across Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey counties to address social determinants of health and connect community members with essential services and support programs.

In her role, she serves as a trusted bilingual resource, helping bridge communication gaps and improve access to healthcare, wellness programs, and community-based services. Her work focuses on community engagement, health education, outreach, and advocacy, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the support needed to improve their overall well-being.

Alongside her community health experience, she has developed strong customer service and operational skills through positions with Bath & Body Works and Sugar Mountain Resort. These roles strengthened her abilities in communication, problem-solving, client relations, and working effectively in fast-paced environments while serving diverse populations.

Known for her compassion, cultural awareness, and commitment to service, she combines community outreach expertise with strong interpersonal and bilingual communication skills to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and improve access to vital health and social resources.
