Her Interview
Ten minutes with Andrea
01What do you attribute your success to?
I always loved working on a computer. When you could take elective courses, I think even in middle school and high school, I chose computer coding, whereas most of the girls or my friends were choosing cooking or other things. I was with all boys in those classes. I always just loved learning on a computer and changing. What I attribute my success to is just never giving up and continuing to learn. With AI and with all the changes constantly with digital, I want to continue evolving and continue learning. To be successful in digital marketing, you really have to be the kind of person that likes change. That's one of my strongest areas - I like that. I don't like being stuck in one thing or thinking I know it all. I think the personality type has to go with it, because I've hired people in the past where they're not like that, and it doesn't work out well. I've managed people like that, and it's difficult. I think it's not an attractive quality in a person to think they know it all.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I think in terms of building the agency, the best advice was that there are two types of agencies. The ones that just sell and keep selling, and the ones that are focused on results and client retention. And both are fine, but just pick which one you want to be. And I have focused on client retention and just providing really quality services.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in digital marketing right now is the rapid pace of change driven by AI, which requires constant adaptability and ongoing learning to stay effective. In healthcare marketing specifically, navigating strict compliance and regulatory frameworks—such as platform policies, LegitScript standards, and FTC guidelines—creates constraints, but also advantages for specialists who understand how to operate successfully within those rules.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I grew up a competitive dancer, so I do ballet and Pilates. That probably gave me my drive, work ethic, and discipline. I still do ballet, so that's definitely an outlet for me outside of work. I have two kids, two boys, they're 9 and 6, so I enjoy being a mom and spending time with them. I travel when I can, when I have the availability in my schedule. As much as possible, even if it's just a quick trip - like last weekend, I went over to the Bahamas just from Friday night until I got back Sunday at 3. The flight from Fort Lauderdale to Bahamas is barely 30 minutes. I try to enjoy life and do the things that make me happy when I'm not working.
