Her Story
About Andrea
I've dedicated my career to healthcare leadership and nursing excellence. I currently serve as Chief Clinical Innovation Officer at Joy Metrics, a role I've held for four years. Before this, I was Director of Professional Excellence for Nursing, where I had the honor of being the accountable leader for getting our organization's first ANCC magnet designation, which I consider my most notable professional achievement. Throughout my career, I've done healthcare and leadership consulting internationally in the Middle East, Asia, and the United States, focusing on team building, nurse advocacy work, and leadership development. My doctorate in Executive Leadership and Innovation from the Medical University of South Carolina was probably the most influential time in my career, as it helped solidify my passion for creating cultures of healthy work environments that embrace diverse ideas. I'm very influential and very inspirational, and I can move the crowd. My main areas of expertise today are team development, business development, and networking.

Ten minutes with Andrea
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mother. My mom was a very kind, embracing person, and she embraced everybody. It was a judge-free zone. She embraced everybody, she embraced new ideas, she embraced her strengths, and recognized that she was not perfect. She was just a hard worker, very committed, very loyal. Yeah, she was a gangster. Her example of being non-judgmental, open to new ideas, self-aware about her imperfections, and deeply committed to hard work shaped who I am today.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is remain humble and accept you do not have to know everything. Be willing to embrace any and every opportunity that comes your way for growth, both personally and professionally. It's important to recognize that you don't need to have all the answers, and staying open to learning and development in all areas of your life will serve you well.
