About Andrea
Andrea E. Delgado is an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Certified Teacher, author, and wellness professional with 30 years of experience supporting children, families, educators, and communities. She currently serves as an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant with Tykes and Teens Behavioral Health agencies in Fort Pierce, Florida, where she partners with private childcare centers, teachers, and families to strengthen relationships, promote healthy development, and build foundational social and emotional skills. Through early intervention strategies and relationship-based practices, Delgado works to create supportive environments that help children thrive while reducing behavioral challenges, including early childhood suspensions and expulsions.
Delgado earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from California State University, Northridge, where she developed expertise in hospice and palliative care, medical settings, and supporting children with developmental disabilities. She later earned a master’s degree in Education from Grand Canyon University with a specialization in English Language Learners (ELL). Drawing on her background as a music therapist, educator, therapist, and coach, Delgado integrates trauma-informed care, social-emotional learning, mindfulness, and therapeutic techniques to help children develop resilience, emotional regulation, and essential life skills. She is also the author of Raising Royalty: Ten Tools for Raising Joyful Strong Successful Kids, a resource focused on empowering families to build stronger connections and nurture children’s confidence and growth.
Throughout her career, Delgado has remained committed to advancing the connection between mental health, education, and wellness. She is a member of the American Music Therapy Association and the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations (NCPMI), and her work has been featured in the American Music Therapy Association Journal. Her leadership philosophy centers on service, compassion, and connection, guided by the belief that “connection comes before correction.” Delgado emphasizes the importance of love, safety, consistency, and trusted relationships in helping individuals overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Inspired by the advice to follow her heart, she continues to use her passion and expertise to create meaningful change in the lives of children, families, and communities.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to follow my heart, because true success comes from pursuing work that aligns with my passions, values, and purpose. I believe that when you listen to yourself and understand what genuinely motivates you, you can overcome challenges and achieve success in any path you choose. Taking the time to reflect on what your heart is telling you can provide the clarity and confidence needed to make meaningful career decisions.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to prioritize self-love and compassion for others before pursuing financial success. While ambition and professional growth are important, building a strong foundation rooted in confidence, kindness, and authenticity creates lasting fulfillment. When you value yourself and treat others with respect, success becomes more meaningful and sustainable, both personally and professionally.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in my work and personal life are service, connection, kindness, and authenticity. I believe true leadership begins with being of service to others, building meaningful relationships, and creating connections rooted in respect and understanding. I prioritize self-awareness, self-love, and extending compassion to others before pursuing success. My approach is guided by the belief that connection comes before correction, and that being consistent, respectful, and kind allows me to make a positive impact on the people around me.
