Her Story
About Andrea
Andrea Evangelist entered higher education in 2013 after completing her graduate education. She began her career as a student success specialist at Seminole State College, where she handled admissions, records, financial aid, transcript evaluation, and student withdrawals while also serving as a lead trainer. Prior to that role, she earned her undergraduate degree from FIU with a double major in finance and international business, then pursued graduate studies at UNC Greensboro in student personnel administration and higher education, including assistantships in learning resources and academic advising. After moving back to Florida to be near family, she has continued in roles involving academic advising and student support. She is actively involved in professional associations such as NACADA and AFC, and presents regularly at conferences including those hosted by AFC, NACADA, NASPA, and her own institution. Her work emphasizes supporting students from diverse backgrounds, as illustrated by her guidance of a student who progressed from a low GPA to graduating magna cum laude.
