Her Interview
Ten minutes with Andrea
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say God for one because it's been a lot of prayer with all the different challenges that comes with this position. And two I would say my boss Christy because she kind of hired me on a whim and has seen a lot of potential in me since I started and she's been the one to promote me from within about 3 or 4 different times.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
HR is definitely not a job that you get a constant recognition for. HR going into that field is something that you have to have a heart for and a passion for to help and serve people because a lot of the work you do is on the back end and while you are part of the backbone that grows the business you have to see the success and the reward in what you personally do in your position.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
From an employee standpoint a lot of it is just the work ethic unfortunately. People want to sit down and collect a paycheck and there's a lot of issue with holding people accountable nowadays. From opportunities I see a lot of opportunity for expansion because a lot of people want to have security like at churches they've started adding security.
