Her Story
About Andrea
Andrea Garcia serves as an R&D engineer at Siemens in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, where she has worked for the past 4 years after moving from Mexico. With 8 years of total experience in the electrical products industry, she specializes in launching new products including meter combos and load centers that power residential homes. Her typical responsibilities involve using 3D software to model designs, reviewing concepts with cross-functional teams, creating physical samples, and collaborating with manufacturing to enable mass production. Prior to her current role, Garcia worked in the automotive industry, which strengthened her detail orientation, prioritization, and organizational skills. She earned her engineering degree as an industrial designer in Mexico and continues to expand her expertise through self-directed learning on electrical systems and company-provided trainings. Garcia leads the ELDP team, a leadership development group within the engineering department, and is passionate about mentoring early-career talent and inspiring young women to pursue engineering.
