Her Story
About Andrea
I started my career in healthcare over 12 years ago after graduating from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Social Work in 2014. Like many people entering the industry, I didn’t fully realize at the time how much healthcare would shape the way I think about people, systems, and leadership.
My aunt, who also works in healthcare, encouraged me to apply for a customer service role at Humana within their wellness program, then called Humana Vitality and now known as Go365. That experience completely changed my perspective on healthcare. It was the first time I saw how strongly human behavior influences health outcomes and how difficult it can be to motivate lasting change, even when people genuinely want to improve their health.
I spent years working closely with members, helping them navigate wellness programs designed to encourage preventive screenings, healthier habits, and greater awareness of their own health metrics. It taught me that improving outcomes is rarely just about providing information. People need systems, support, encouragement, and experiences that meet them where they are.
Over time, my career evolved from frontline customer support into leadership roles focused on operations, customer experience, and organizational strategy. Today, I lead healthcare operations supporting clinics across the San Antonio region within a value-based care model. My work ranges from coaching teams and developing leaders to improving workflows, supporting clinic partnerships, and helping organizations navigate the operational challenges that come with growth and change.
What continues to drive me are people and systems. I’m passionate about understanding why things break down, whether that’s within workflows, communication, engagement, or behavior, and building practical solutions that improve both the human experience and organizational performance.
I’m especially interested in the future of health tech, AI, and community-based healthcare engagement. As technology continues to transform healthcare, I believe one of the biggest opportunities and responsibilities we have is ensuring we don’t lose the human connection in the process.
Over the next several years, I hope to continue helping bridge the gap between healthcare technology and real communities by building systems that are scalable, innovative, and still deeply personal.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being someone who naturally looks for ways to improve things while still keeping people at the center of the process. I’ve always been energized by solving problems, building systems, and helping teams navigate challenges, but I think what’s made the biggest difference is my ability to connect strategy with human behavior. Whether I’m leading teams, improving operations, or supporting patients and clinics, I try to understand what people actually need in order to succeed and then build around that.
