About Andrea

Andrea Metzler is a health coach based in Vista, California, with eight years of experience in the field. She specializes in nutrition and accountability for mid-age women, with a natural approach to hormone balance, weight loss, sleep, and energy. Metzler entered the profession after working to improve her own health to avoid the early disease and death her mother experienced, discovering along the way that she could help other women facing similar challenges. In her practice, she provides education, supplement recommendations, and consistent accountability check-ins to help clients follow through on what they already know they need to do amid busy family and work lives. She attributes her success to a strong personal why centered on her five children, support from mentors, coaches, and friends who pour into her, and a burning desire and confidence to make an impact. Metzler emphasizes core values of integrity, faith, and loving others in both her work and personal life. She advises young women entering the field to prioritize building trusting relationships with integrity over focusing solely on marketing or sales skills. Among the challenges she notes are internal struggles with confidence and worthiness, competition in health coaching, and the need to put oneself out on social media, which also presents the opportunity to reach billions of people by stepping out of one's comfort zone.

Ten minutes with Andrea

01What do you attribute your success to?

I really feel like it's having a strong why, like my kids are my why, and I've been through a lot of difficult transitions in life, and knowing that I have people looking up to me that I love, and I want to show them what's possible. That has been a big part of it, but also having people that I look up to that pour into me. Coaches and mentors, good friends. Has also been a huge part of it, and just that desire, honestly, like, or you might even call it a need. If I don't make this happen, then what? You know? It's really just that burning desire, to make something happen, and just to believe so strongly just to have that confidence and belief that you can, and that it's important to impact people, whether it's your family or the people around you, I think is a huge, necessary step.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say that so much time... so many times we think of it as we need to know marketing, or even social media, or sales, or something like that, and while all of that is necessary and helpful, it is so relationship-based. I think building relationships is key to no matter what field you're in. And, really being a person that others can trust, and that you have integrity, so that people believe what you're saying, and that you make the connections that last through the years, no matter where people end up. And I really love people, and pour into them. Just to see them win is so important.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Yeah, I think some of the challenges tend to be, you know, between our own two ears, and your own confidence and worthiness. Honestly, I think a lot of women struggle with, do I deserve this, and who will listen to me? And so the challenge, I think, is feeling like, well, you know, probably everybody knows this already, and they don't. But that's the challenge, and feeling like there's a lot of other people offering health coaching, and so how to set myself apart, and how to, you know, bring that specific, you know, my ideal client into my audience. So I feel like that. And putting yourself out there on social media, because that's what today's world needs. The opportunity is... is the same as the challenge, really. It's... There are so many billions of people on social media, and the opportunity is there if we take advantage of it and you really have to step out of your comfort zone.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Yeah, so my core values would definitely be integrity, being somebody that I can trust myself, because I do what I say I'm gonna do, I keep my word, but I think that also translates into what others, how others can trust me. So, living a life of integrity, my faith... loving others, I think those are really core foundational, things that I live by.
