What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of curiosity, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning. My career journey began as an executive administrative assistant, then evolved into interior design after completing evening classes at Harper College. When financial challenges prompted a career shift, I applied a self-assessment using a Ben Franklin list to identify my strengths, which led me to talent acquisition. Over the years, I have honed my skills in full-cycle recruiting across technical, engineering, manufacturing, operations, sales, marketing, and IT roles, working with both agency and RPO models to place top-tier talent in diverse industries including medical devices, retail and entertainment, professional services, energy, and technology services.
I have been fortunate to partner with top-rated Fortune 500 companies, where my role requires thoughtful research, personalized outreach, and close collaboration with hiring managers to identify candidates who not only meet the technical requirements of the role but also align with the company’s culture and values. From recruiting scientists and engineers for Kraft Foods’ R&D teams to conducting specialized searches for concierge medical practice physicians, my focus has always been on creating meaningful connections that drive growth for businesses while advancing the careers of talented individuals.
Ultimately, talent acquisition is more than a career for me it is my mission. I take pride in making a tangible impact on both organizations and candidates, crafting honest and engaging communications, and ensuring each placement contributes positively to a team or business. My success stems from staying curious, seeking opportunities to grow, and dedicating myself to excellence in every role I undertake, because the true reward lies in helping people and companies thrive together.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to remain curious, embrace continuous learning, and focus on adding value wherever you are. I was encouraged to seek out opportunities that challenge me, to listen and learn from mentors and colleagues, and to build strong professional relationships along the way. This guidance has inspired me to approach each role with intentionality, to pursue growth both personally and professionally, and to recognize that success is measured not only by achievements but also by the positive impact you have on others in your field.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to take the time to evaluate your strengths and skills, and seek guidance from trusted mentors and colleagues. Embrace continuous learning, stay curious, and be proactive in developing your expertise. Building strong relationships with HR teams and collaborating across departments can provide invaluable insights, while remaining open to feedback will help you grow professionally. Remember that knowledge, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are some of the most powerful tools you can bring to your career.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life include continuous learning, curiosity, and a commitment to making a positive impact. I enjoy exploring topics such as medical technology, ancient history, and animal welfare, which reflect my passion for knowledge and giving back. I am dedicated to personal growth through activities like public speaking, creative writing, and voice acting, having completed an 8-week voiceover course to expand my skills. Staying active and resilient is also important to me, as demonstrated by my experience in racquetball and pickleball, even navigating recovery from a six-month injury. Additionally, I am deeply committed to volunteer work, particularly with Young at Heart Pet Rescue, where I help rescue, foster, and re-home dogs and cats, reinforcing my belief in compassion, service, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
