About Andrea
I am an ethics and compliance professional with a legal background and more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of governance, integrity, and institutional accountability in international organizations.
Currently, I serve as Team Leader for Prevention in the Office of Ethics at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). In this role, I lead initiatives that promote ethical decision-making across the organization. My work focuses on advising employees on the Code of Ethics, coordinating ethics consultations, and developing prevention-focused training programs on issues such as conflicts of interest and workplace harassment across offices in Latin America and the Caribbean.
My career began in Colombia, where I worked in counter-narcotics prosecution and white-collar criminal law before transitioning to the public sector, advising the Ministry of Defense on international affairs and cooperation initiatives. In 2010, I moved to the United States to pursue an LL.M. at Georgetown University, which opened the door to my career in international institutional governance and compliance.
Throughout my professional journey, I have remained committed to embedding ethics into everyday operations—not just as policies, but as practical guidance that supports employees in making sound decisions.
I strongly believe in continuous learning, collaboration, and creating environments where professionals feel empowered to speak up and act with integrity.
