Her Story

About Andrea

I've been in my field for over 10 years, working as a creative director in publishing, advertising, and media. I went to art school in New York and earned my Bachelor's in design and graphic design from the School of Visual Arts. My career has taken me internationally - I've worked in Germany, Asia, and back to New York, giving me a comprehensive 360-degree experience in the beauty and fashion world across European, Asian, and United States markets. As a yoga coach, I've been working with clients on a one-on-one, private level for over 10 years, on and off. I believe that as professional women, we really need support on an emotional and mental health level through self-care, and yoga became my way of helping professionals find peace, be centered, and be grounded because the career does strain us. In the last year and a half, I expanded my wellness credentials into doula work, supporting women who are not supported in that space. I thought there was a real need to work with women as a birth worker to support them in understanding that as a professional, you can still be a career woman but you can also be a mother and find that strength. I feel blessed to be able to support women in that space, knowing I'm a professional woman who wants to do everything right but doesn't always have the skill sets as a new mother. I do pro bono work for birthing mothers, particularly Black women and women who don't have the resources to have a doula.

01What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think that supporting people one-on-one is really key these days. Having gone through the whole pandemic where we are working from home, I think working with people one-on-one is really key right now versus everyone being remote. We're talking AI all around, but I think that AI can support people as a tool in that space, but having that one-on-one connection and making that connection when everyone's remote is a really big need. I think it's a really big need to enforce that personal connection.
