Her Story
About Andrea
Andrea Weishaubt has spent 14 years building a career in land survey, civil engineering, and construction inspection. After graduating college in 2009 with a degree in corporate recreation and wellness, she joined her father's land surveying company during a challenging job market and quickly developed a passion for the work. Today she owns a small business of about 30 employees and leads by example, never asking her team to do anything she would not do herself. Andrea serves as vice president of the Kansas Society of Land Surveyors and chairs the Young Surveyors Network, while also contributing to her county's planning department commissioners board. She credits her success to hard work and the people she has surrounded herself with, and she encourages young women in the industry to step up, show they belong, and persevere without intimidation. Andrea aspires to grow her company to 100 people in the metro area while remaining actively involved in her daughters' school and activities.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Hard work and the people that I surrounded myself with contribute to my success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
There's every opportunity available for any woman as there is for any man. It's just about persevering and not being intimidated by the men in the group. You have to step up and show that you belong at the table. You have to have enough courage to step up and say you belong.
