What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God, which I believe is greater than anything I can achieve on my own. I recognize that my accomplishments are not solely the result of my efforts, but also a reflection of grace and guidance beyond myself. Because of this, I make it a priority to remain grateful each day for the opportunities and blessings I’ve received.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I want young women to know that they're not alone. Don't feel like you have to fit into one cog. I can be a filmmaker and I can still run real estate and I can still run a radio station. Anybody can do more than one thing, especially women. People will tell you you're not good enough, but I want other women and little girls to know that you are more than capable and you are more than deserving. If God has put that vision on your heart and that passion in your soul, you can do it. I've heard people say things to me as a kid, like 'oh, you should have had a brother' or 'this is for a man to be in this position,' but you need to know you are not alone and you don't have to struggle with thoughts like 'maybe I don't deserve this' or 'maybe I'm not good enough.' Women have so much creative energy, and they shouldn't feel like they have to choose one thing when they're 18.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think it's important for us to have a positive outlook on AI. Living in fear will always keep us in a small box. I see the ways that AI can help improve effectiveness and efficiency within a company, and I see the ways that AI can work alongside my people. I don't want to see anyone's job getting lost, because there is an authenticity of how you and I can communicate one-on-one that AI will never truly be able to do. To me, radio is like the first social media, and being able to have that essence of authenticity, I wouldn't want to get drowned out by AI or replace people in any way. But I do see a bright future in which it can be beneficial to improve business and help people.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith, authenticity, transparency, empowering others, and a strong commitment to community service. I strive to stay grounded in my faith while remaining true to who I am in every setting. I also value open and honest communication, as I believe transparency builds trust and strong relationships. In addition, I am deeply committed to empowering others and contributing meaningfully to my community through service and support.
