Her Story

About Aneta

Aneta Dimitrijevic is the Product Integrity and Quality Manager at Fanatics, bringing 26 years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, and production management. Based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she began her career in production, building mattresses, where her strong work ethic and ability to perform efficiently quickly distinguished her as one of the fastest employees. Her performance led to promotions to production lead and subsequently supervisor. With guidance and support from plant and production managers, Aneta developed her leadership capabilities, improved productivity, and discovered her passion for managing people and manufacturing operations. In her current role at Fanatics, she oversees product integrity and quality initiatives, drives defect prevention, leads root cause investigations, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet engineering standards and customer expectations. Throughout her career, Aneta has built extensive expertise in quality management, process improvement, and manufacturing operations across the apparel, textile, bedding, packaging, and millwork industries. She spent 17 years at Serta Simmons Bedding, progressing through several positions, including HMB Operator, Team Lead, Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, and Production/Quality Supervisor. She later held manufacturing and production leadership roles at Vessel and Reeb Millwork before joining Fanatics as Quality Assurance Supervisor in November 2023 and advancing to Product Integrity and Quality Manager in February 2025. To strengthen her technical and leadership capabilities, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix, graduating in 2022 with a 4.0 GPA, and pursued Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certifications. Her expertise includes developing standard operating procedures, training employees, conducting investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions, addressing customer complaints, performing process audits, and improving manufacturing efficiency. Her dedication was recognized with the Heartbeat Award from Simmons Corporation in November 2011, following her nomination for company-wide Employee of the Year. Aneta attributes her success to her commitment to continuous learning, daily improvement, and applying new knowledge to real-world challenges. During her 17 years at Serta Simmons Bedding, she embraced opportunities to learn something new every day, believing that knowledge empowers her to make better decisions and contribute more effectively. She remains focused on adapting to evolving manufacturing practices and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, while encouraging a culture of quality, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. Beyond her corporate career, Aneta co-owns Pirot Remodeling LLC, a construction company she operates with her husband, and invests in real estate as a landlord with multiple properties. Her diverse professional and entrepreneurial experience reflects her drive to develop new skills, pursue opportunities for growth, and build lasting value across manufacturing, construction, and real estate.

Ten minutes with Aneta

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my commitment to continuous learning, personal growth, and consistently striving to improve. Every day, I make an effort to learn something new, strengthen my skills, and apply that knowledge to achieve better results.

Throughout my 17 years at Serta Simmons Bedding, I embraced opportunities to learn and grow. I found great satisfaction in expanding my knowledge, gaining experience, and understanding how my work contributed to the organization’s success.

I believe knowledge is power, especially when we put it into practice. That belief motivates me to stay open to new ideas, adapt to change, and embrace emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. Understanding how to use these tools thoughtfully helps me improve my work and contribute as the industry advances.

Today, I bring that same dedication to Fanatics, a company I truly love being part of. I am proud to continue my professional development while sharing my experience, supporting my team, and contributing to the company’s success.

My success comes from staying curious, putting what I learn into action, and caring deeply about the work I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Learn from your mistakes and think outside the box

The best career advice I ever received was to learn from my mistakes and always think outside the box. These lessons continue to shape how I approach challenges and grow professionally.

Learning From My Mistakes

I believe mistakes are valuable learning opportunities. They give me a chance to reflect, understand what went wrong, and take responsibility for doing better.

When I make a mistake, I ask myself: What can I learn from this? What should I do differently next time?

That reflection helps me improve my skills, strengthen my judgment, and make better decisions.

Thinking Outside the Box

Thinking outside the box means looking beyond conventional approaches and staying open to new ideas.

When I face a challenge, I try to consider different perspectives and explore creative solutions. I have learned to question familiar routines and ask whether there is a better way to achieve the goal.

A Mindset for Professional Growth

Together, these lessons have helped me continue learning and adapt to change. They remind me to accept feedback, try different approaches, and apply what experience teaches me.

As I grow in my career, I want to keep that same curiosity and willingness to improve.

Every mistake can teach me something, and every challenge gives me an opportunity to think differently.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Keep learning. Build your independence. Believe in your future.

After more than 20 years in manufacturing and quality, my advice to women beginning their careers is this: stay curious, invest in yourself, and keep moving forward, even when the path becomes difficult.

Make Learning a Lifelong Commitment

Ask questions. Learn how processes work and why decisions matter. Take the time to understand the departments around you, because every part of an organization can teach you something valuable.

Your education continues through hands-on experience, training, and conversations with others. Every skill you develop gives you more choices for your future.

Keep Growing With Technology

Learn about artificial intelligence and how to use it thoughtfully in your work. Explore how it can help you organize information, improve communication, analyze data, and develop ideas.

Practice checking its answers and understanding its limitations. Protect confidential company information and follow your organization’s policies when using AI.

The more you understand these tools, the better prepared you will be to contribute as your workplace evolves.

Build Your Independence

Develop the knowledge, confidence, and financial awareness to make your own decisions. Take ownership of your career and learn how to advocate for yourself.

Seek mentors and accept support. Independence means building your ability to choose your direction while learning from the people around you.

Be Dependable and Know Your Worth

Keep your commitments, take responsibility for your work, and follow through. Let people see that they can trust you.

At the same time, recognize the value of your contribution. Speak about your accomplishments with confidence, ask for opportunities, and maintain healthy boundaries.

Keep Going When Things Get Difficult

You may face setbacks, rejection, or moments when others underestimate you. Learn what you can from those experiences and keep developing your abilities.

Perseverance can also mean changing direction. Give yourself permission to pursue an environment where you can grow and contribute.

A Message to Every Woman Starting Out

You do not need to know everything on your first day. Be willing to learn, brave enough to ask questions, and patient with your progress.

Keep educating yourself. Build your independence. Be someone others can count on, and trust yourself to take the next step.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

My Challenge at Work: Building Shared Accountability

One of my biggest challenges is creating consistent cooperation across departments so we can prevent quality problems before they happen.

Quality depends on everyone working from accurate information, understanding expectations, and following through on their responsibilities. Leading that effort requires influence beyond the people I directly supervise.

The Daily Leadership Challenge

When instructions conflict or communication breaks down, even capable teams can struggle to deliver consistent results.

My challenge is to address those gaps constructively, build trust, and keep conversations focused on facts and solutions. That also means raising concerns with confidence while maintaining respectful working relationships.

My Challenge in My Career: Creating Greater Impact

With more than 20 years of manufacturing experience across production and quality, my career challenge is translating that experience into a broader leadership opportunity.

I want to contribute at a level where I can strengthen systems, develop people, and help shape decisions that improve performance across an organization.

Making My Experience Visible

Experience becomes more meaningful when I can clearly explain the difference it makes.

For my next career step, that means showing how my work improves processes, prevents recurring problems, and helps teams succeed. It also means communicating my accomplishments with the same confidence I bring to solving problems.

What I Am Learning

Leadership requires patience, clear expectations, and the willingness to have difficult conversations.

I am continuing to learn how to hold people accountable while building cooperation, and how to advocate for my own growth while supporting the success of others.

My Focus Moving Forward

At work, my focus is building the cooperation and accountability that consistent quality requires.

In my career, my focus is finding opportunities where my experience can make a greater contribution, with the authority and recognition that support that responsibility.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My reflections on workplace culture, trust, and leadership

The values that matter most to me are respect, honesty, accountability, and trust. They guide how I approach my work, how I treat people, and the relationships I build in my personal life.

After more than 20 years in manufacturing and quality, I have learned how much workplace culture influences both people’s well-being and their ability to succeed.

Respect in Everyday Interactions

Respect means listening, welcoming questions, and treating people with dignity, even when we disagree.

I value an environment where people can ask for information, raise concerns, and offer ideas without feeling dismissed. The way we respond to one another matters as much as the words we use.

In my personal life, I hold the same expectation: open conversations, consideration for others, and respect that goes both ways.

Trust Through Honesty and Consistency

For me, trustworthiness means that words and actions match. It means following through on commitments, sharing accurate information, and being honest when something goes wrong.

At work, I want to know that I can rely on others and that they can rely on me. Trust grows when people communicate openly and handle concerns fairly.

In my personal life, trust gives relationships stability. I value people who keep their word and allow me to speak honestly.

Accountability With Fairness

I believe in taking responsibility for my decisions and learning from my mistakes. I also believe expectations should be clear and accountability should apply fairly to everyone.

When a problem happens, I value a conversation that helps us understand the cause and agree on what needs to change. People need room to learn, along with the responsibility to follow through.

A Culture Where People Can Speak Up

The workplace culture I value encourages people to raise concerns early, ask questions, and respectfully challenge a decision.

In quality and manufacturing, people often notice something that others have missed. They need to feel comfortable sharing it. How a leader responds can determine whether someone speaks up again.

I want to help create an environment where people feel heard and understand that their contribution matters.

Leadership That Supports People

The leadership I respect combines clear expectations with genuine support. It gives people the information and resources they need, recognizes their contributions, and addresses concerns directly.

As I continue growing in my career, I want to lead in a way that builds confidence and earns trust. That includes listening carefully and remaining open to feedback about my own approach.

Success That Reflects My Values

Career success matters to me, and so does how I achieve it. I want opportunities to use my experience, continue learning, and make a meaningful contribution in an environment of mutual respect.

In my personal life, I value relationships where I can feel supported, be myself, and give that same support to others.

The culture I want to be part of is one I also want to help create: a place where people keep their word, treat one another fairly, and feel confident speaking honestly.
