She later joined The Robert Toigo Foundation, where she helped connect diverse MBA talent from leading institutions such as Harvard and Stanford with opportunities in the financial services industry, establishing her lifelong commitment to developing and advancing exceptional professionals.

In 1998, Angel relocated to New York after being recruited by Morgan Stanley, beginning a distinguished career on Wall Street focused on identifying and developing talent. A dedicated volunteer, mentor, and community leader, Angel enjoys serving through her church, spending time with family and friends, and teaching tap and jazz dance—continuing a lifelong mission of empowering others through opportunity, confidence, and service.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Angel

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong foundation my parents provided which included a strong foundation in faith. They created an environment where their children were a priority and actively supported, while also encouraging us to become independent, develop our own identities, and pursue our individual paths. Their guidance taught me the importance of confidence, responsibility, and staying true to myself. Having that balance of support and independence helped shape my ability to navigate challenges, make decisions, and grow both personally and professionally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to never underestimate the value of being likable. Building genuine relationships, treating people with respect, and creating positive connections can be just as important as technical skills and professional expertise. I have learned that people want to work with individuals they trust, respect, and enjoy being around. Strong relationships can open doors, create opportunities, and contribute to long-term success.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to go for it, believe in themselves, and recognize the value they bring. Confidence is essential, and it is important not to hold yourself back because of uncertainty or fear. Trust your skills, your perspective, and your ability to contribute. Opportunities often come when you are willing to step forward, take risks, and embrace challenges with confidence.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is continuing to grow and develop business in an increasingly competitive environment. Marketing, building awareness, and creating sustainable growth require creativity, consistency, and strong relationships. At the same time, these challenges create opportunities to innovate, connect with new audiences, and find new ways to deliver value. Those who are adaptable and focused on building meaningful relationships are well positioned to grow.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The value that matters most to me is being kind and considerate toward others. I believe how we treat people has a lasting impact, both professionally and personally. Showing respect, empathy, and genuine care helps build stronger relationships and creates a positive environment for everyone. I strive to bring kindness into every interaction and believe that success is most meaningful when it is achieved while positively influencing the people around me.
