Her Story
About Angela
Angela Abernethy has spent about 20 years in community building, initially as a volunteer role while her husband was active duty Army. Frequent moves every two or three years across multiple locations including two countries, Tennessee, North Carolina, Tampa, Germany, and now Virginia led her to create environments where military families could connect, talk, and feel less isolated, often bringing children along. She now holds a paid position at the Green Beret Foundation supporting the Still Mags program for wives, sisters, daughters, and mothers of Green Berets, fostering community and connection at various locations. Angela holds a bachelor's degree in communication with a focus in public relations, which she applies daily in understanding people, commands, service members, and relaying information to families. Her work emphasizes creating spaces where people can show up genuinely and authentically, feeling seen, heard, and felt.
