Her Story
About Angela
I have been in the substance abuse and mental health field for about 5 years. What led me to my current position was lived experiences and loved ones with behavioral health and things of that nature. Before that, I was doing case management and working as a receptionist for 5 years. As a counselor, my typical day involves doing biopsychosocials, discharges, gathering information, and facilitating groups. The biggest challenge within my role is not having enough time in the day sometimes. The values most important to me professionally and personally are empathy and having integrity. I find this career very rewarding, and it gives me meaning and purpose. My goal is to grow professionally and personally, and maybe one day open up a facility to give back to the community.
