Her Story

About Angela

I handle my clients' communication needs based on budget, timeline, creative, and execution. I put teams together to get us to the endpoint and create the content we need to create for various clients. Right now I'm working a lot on Homes.com, doing all their work in their digital spaces. My role involves packaging everything up, figuring out who's appropriate, what levers I need to pull to get us through the finish line, what our limitations are, and who's going to creatively get us there. I work with the creative teams to help focus them and keep them on target, on strategy, on brand, and on budget. One of my most notable achievements was working on a project for the CDC where we worked with people who were in recovery from opioid addiction. I traveled all over the country to 6 various cities, bringing a skeleton crew with me to each city. I worked with a great creative team who really leaned on me for my expertise in terms of director and the team that was going to get us to the finish line. I had to convince the client that we could elevate the creative and make it so much better, and once everyone bought in, we created this beautiful project that ended up winning an Emmy. The experience was great, the team was great, and I really set the tone for all of that. It was rewarding on all levels, meeting amazing people and learning so much about their experience.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Early in my career, I supported the Director of Research and the Director of Client Services, and they were both really great women. Even though I was their assistant, they told me 'we know you don't want to stay in this role, you know, this is not a long-term role for you. Really look around and see which fields, which department in the agency really appeals to you.' That advice to explore and find what I was truly passionate about rather than staying in a role that wasn't right for me was invaluable. It led me to discover production, which I've loved for 26 years.
