Angela Helvey

Angela Helvey is a teacher based in Missoula, Montana, with three decades of experience in the field of education. Her career includes classroom teaching and substitute roles across Montana, Alaska, California, New Mexico, Washington, and New Orleans. She earned her BA in Education in 1996 after earlier studies in journalism and graphic arts, later obtaining a special education certificate to strengthen her qualifications. Helvey has worked on five Indian reservations in Montana and has a strong track record of building rapport with students, often incorporating creative approaches such as art into her lessons. Prior to her teaching career, she served as coordinator of the Women's Resource Center during college and as an office manager at a feminist collective.
