What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my entire journey that it has taken to get to where I am today. I started out as a certified welder in manufacturing, working for Case New Holland for 15 years, which led me into my new role as Regional Safety Specialist. I'm very proud of my hard work, and last year I reduced the amount of injuries by 40%. It definitely takes a lot of work from everyone, not just myself. Building a safety culture from nothing has been really rewarding to me, and I believe that's how we got to reduce the injuries.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
You can have a career in a field you love and feel very rewarding and make a difference and possibly save a life.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You too can have a career you love and feel rewarding just keep working your way up.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Being in a new role less than a month. I'm honestly only in my second week with a brand new company, so this is a really exciting time. This regional role is a little bit bigger scale because now I get a touchpoint with more people than I did before with just one manufacturing site.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being able to work hard and reduce accidents in the workplace is really important to me. I love what I do with safety - it's a really rewarding job. Outside of work, I'm a really big outdoors person, so I enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, and camping. I'm also a big crafter - I love to do floral arrangements, embroidery, and I like to make wreaths and fun stuff like that. I love creating projects and seeing a vision come to life.
