About Angela

Angela Mcfarland serves as the Executive Director and Founder of a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the special needs population by offering social skills and vocational opportunities within the setting of a record store cafe. She transitioned to this role in 2020 after spending 30 years in the HR field, where she worked as a recruitment generalist and corporate trainer, recruiting for positions across medical, defense, engineering, logistics, and administrative sectors, including at U.S. Healthcare, now known as Aetna. With only three months of community college and a couple of certifications but no formal degree, Mcfarland drew on her extensive professional experience and personal journey as the mother of a son with autism to build her organization from the ground up through grassroots efforts. Her nonprofit has sustained operations for six years, receiving one notable grant from the Philadelphia Eagles Autism challenge, and she actively participates in community initiatives such as the G Fest women's music and vendor empowerment festival, which supports local causes like the Laurel House domestic abuse shelter. Mcfarland is also involved in mentoring young nonprofit leaders and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Neurodivergent Employment Network.
