Her Interview
Ten minutes with Angela
01What do you attribute your success to?
The most important thing I’ve learned is to trust myself and trust my intuition, especially when stepping into new leadership situations. I’ve found that success comes from trusting the process, staying consistent, and creating an environment where people feel respected, included, and able to collaborate. That combination of self-trust, steadiness, and team trust has been central to how I lead and to the outcomes I’ve been able to achieve.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received came from a Senior Leader at Visa. She taught me that people may make mistakes or need tough feedback, but they should leave every conversation with their dignity intact and a clear understanding of what comes next.
That advice shaped my leadership philosophy. I believe leaders must be candid, fair, and transparent. Hard conversations are inevitable, but they should be handled with integrity and purpose. My role is to create clarity, set expectations, provide timely feedback, and help people understand how to succeed moving forward. When delivered with honesty and respect, feedback builds trust, strengthens accountability, and supports growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to younger career women is to trust yourself, stay curious, and keep learning. Growth often comes from opportunities you are not fully prepared for, but willing to step into.
Build expertise, but do not limit yourself to one lane. Seek experiences that broaden your perspective, stretch your judgment, and help you connect ideas across people, business, technology, and society.
Most importantly, lead with integrity. Be clear, be fair, follow through, and create room for others to succeed. Over time, your judgment, reputation, and relationships become some of your greatest assets.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is the rapid rise of AI, where many legal and policy frameworks are struggling to keep pace with technological advancement. At the same time, I see a clear opportunity for experienced practitioners to bridge the gap between innovators’ visions and the practical, regulated implementation of these technologies. In this role, I aim to help translate emerging ideas into solutions that are both operationally viable and compliant, ensuring they can be responsibly deployed for the benefit of consumers and organizations.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are trust, transparency, collaboration, and intuition. I place a strong emphasis on treating people with respect and creating space for open, honest communication in all interactions. I also strive to ensure that others feel heard and that their contributions are meaningful, so they leave each engagement with a sense of value and impact.
