Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, staying committed to equity, and approaching every challenge with positivity and a solutions-focused mindset.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to stay connected to your heart—focus on what inspires you, even when progress feels slow, and maintain strong professional relationships for support.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Think about what gets you up in the morning and where your heart lies. There will be slow days, but keep pushing toward your goals, and stay connected to mentors and colleagues who can provide guidance and encouragement.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is funding for public schools and the lack of resources for Spanish-speaking learners. At the same time, this presents an opportunity to develop smarter instructional practices and equity-centered programming that can close persistent achievement gaps.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Positivity, understanding, and a focus on solutions are central to both my work and personal life. I believe there is a silver lining in every situation, and framing challenges optimistically helps me inspire and support others effectively.
