01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was to believe in yourself. Self-doubt and insecurities can become barriers to growth, while confidence creates the momentum needed to take meaningful action and pursue new opportunities. Success begins with trusting your abilities, remaining committed to your goals, and being willing to put in the hard work required to achieve them. When you have confidence in yourself and persevere through challenges, you position yourself to reach your full potential.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the field of education is to lead with passion and remain committed to your purpose. Teaching is both challenging and deeply rewarding, especially when you are genuinely dedicated to helping children learn, grow, and succeed. Invest in building meaningful relationships with your students, colleagues, and families, as these connections strengthen your impact and enrich your experience. No two days are ever the same, but each day presents a new opportunity to inspire others, make a lasting difference, and positively shape the lives of future generations.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my career has been navigating the transition from the corporate IT sector to education while balancing the responsibilities of family, career, and community service. The education field continues to evolve, requiring educators to adapt to new technologies, changing student needs, and shifting expectations. While change and uncertainty can be demanding, they also present opportunities for growth, innovation, and lifelong learning. Staying resilient, maintaining a positive outlook, and remaining focused on making a meaningful impact have been essential to overcoming these challenges and embracing new opportunities.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are servant leadership, integrity, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact. I believe education is one of the most powerful ways to improve lives and strengthen communities, and I strive each day to serve others with compassion, purpose, and dedication. I am passionate about influencing and uplifting those around me, just as mentors and role models have inspired and guided me throughout my own journey. Whether in the classroom, my community, or my personal life, I am committed to helping others reach their potential through education, encouragement, and service.
