Her Interview

Ten minutes with Angela

01What do you attribute your success to?

Being a young mother taught me that when I have to, I can. Their fathers were not involved so there was no support there and I had to find a way and figure it out. Even when you've got no spoons left at the end of the day you still have to find some more when you've got young kids. Learning that at an early age has helped with my ability to seek and practice independence and agency and go for what I want even if I'm not quite sure how that's gonna work.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be scared to bring your whole self to the table. And if you find yourself in a place where that is not appreciated then find somewhere else where it is because those places exist. There's a place for your personality, there's a place for you, there's a place for your interesting ideas or ridiculous amounts of energy or whatever it is you bring to the table as a human brain. Bring that to work.
