What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of education, hands-on training, and the support of those around me. My educational background includes trade school, a four-year apprenticeship, and a range of certifications in fire alarm systems, AutoCAD, estimating, and code, along with a LEED accreditation. Equally important has been the guidance, mentorship, and opportunities provided by colleagues and mentors throughout my career, for which I am deeply grateful.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Angela's advice is direct: "Just do it. Know as much as you possibly can, and don't ever let anybody tell you that you can't. Find your voice." She encourages young women to pursue construction if they enjoy it and to use mentorship and knowledge to advance faster.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my professional and personal life are integrity, mentorship, and service to others. Over my career in electrical contracting, I have progressed from project coordinator to assistant project manager and ultimately senior project manager, achieving notable milestones such as winning Project of the Year twice. I take great pride in mentoring others in the industry, including a current mentee in Wyoming, and I am passionate about teaching and guiding the next generation of professionals. Beyond my work, I am actively involved with Weld County Women and two non-profits in Colorado Springs that focus on supporting survivors of domestic violence and addressing teenage pregnancy, reflecting my commitment to making a positive impact in my community.
